Maureen FitzSimons' early achievements in performing arts (now known as Maureen O'Hara), would be considered, in America's eyes, into the category of child prodigy. It was an innate quality for a woman from Irish heritage, who was nurtured in the beginning by gifted family members and parents. Maureen was born in Ranelagh an area in Dublin the capital of Ireland on the 17th of August 1920. Marguerita Lea. FitzSimons had a successful contralto. Charles FitzSimons ran a Dublin firm, as well as had shares in the Irish Shamrock Rovers soccer club. Maureen FitzSimons was the second child of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons, Florrie Fitzsimons Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons rounded out this amazing family. Maureen enjoyed playing athletic games as a child and excelled at sports. This passion was combined with an equally natural aptitude for performing. As a result, she won the majority of the Feis Awards for acting and dramatic performances within her own country. When she turned 14, she was invited into the world-renowned Abbey Theater and pursued her dream of classical theater along with operatic music.
