
Jennifer has always wanted to be an multi-tasking star. While she was a kid Jennifer was fond of a variety of kinds of music, mostly Afro-Caribbean music like merengue, salsa, and Bachata. In addition, she loved mainstream music , like hip-hop , and R&B. Music was her passion, but she was fascinated by the motion picture industry. West Side Story, a musical written by Rita Moreno (1961), was her main source of inspiration. At 5, Jennifer began taking singing and dancing lessons. Aside from being a budding entertainment artist, Jennifer is also a Catholic schoolgirlwho attended eight years of the Catholic elementary school called Holy Family situated at The Bronx, before graduating from an all girls prep school, Preston High School after a four-year stay. Jennifer did well in sports at school and competed in track and field and tennis. Her entire life was upbringing in a two-story house located in the Castle Hill neighborhood. At 18, Jennifer moved out of her parent's house. Lopez was a lawyer at the time, and was also taking lessons at night.
